About Maxfield Harvey
Maxfield Harvey wrote the first full version of The Blade of Strife at just fourteen years old — a story that would grow alongside him for decades. Two generations of his life are woven into its pages: the dreamer who began it, and the man who returned to finish it. Through these two lenses he built a world of myth, war, and truth — a saga about what endures when everything else is lost.
He is an advocate for mental health. His struggle with bipolar disorder as a teen and young adult shaped both his life and his art. Writing became his outlet — a way to turn pain into myth. His stories reflect those who struggle, endure, and rise from the dark.
Raised on the stories his father told and inspired by the rawness of history, Harvey poured his own battles, faith, and resilience into the series. Every chapter was written across years of change — from youthful imagination to adult reckoning — shaped by love, grief, and the fight to hold on to meaning.
He now lives in Southern California with his wife and their two sons. When he’s not writing, he’s usually at the beach with his boys, walking his dog Nico, or watching the Chargers play beside his father — the man who first taught him the power of stories.
The Blade of Strife is more than a book. It’s a reflection of life itself — how we break, how we heal, and how truth outlasts us all.
